T Cantilever Car Parking Shades in Saudi Arabia

Our T cantilever car parking shades stand on a single row of centre columns, each topped by a balanced beam that reaches out equally on both sides, like the letter T. You get shade on both sides of your island or median row from one slim line of posts, with no column at the edge to block traffic or doors. At Umbrella Parking Shades we design and fabricate every T-type car shade in our Dammam workshop, and our own crews install it on sites throughout the Kingdom.

One centre column, shade on both sides

Our T cantilever is a centre column parking shade. Each steel column rises from the middle of your parking strip and carries a horizontal beam or a pair of equal arms at the top. We stretch the fabric over the beams, so your roof is level or gently pitched, with the same reach and the same clear height on both sides.

Like all our cantilever car parking shades, it leaves the front of every bay open. What makes the T special is balance: the two halves weigh about the same, so the column carries the roof evenly. For you, that means a slimmer column that fits a narrow island, and a neat, symmetrical look over your car park.

02

What you get with Umbrella Parking Shades

  • Free site visit: we measure your island, check kerbs, irrigation, light poles and services, and advise on arm length and fabric.
  • Drawing and quotation first: a layout drawing and a clear written quotation before you pay anything.
  • Made and fitted by us: columns and T-heads are welded and coated in our Dammam workshop and installed by our own crews, with no subcontractors.
  • Engineered for Saudi conditions: SBC 301 wind loads, Shamal winds, sand and heat; hot-dip galvanised steel near the coast.
  • Warranty: 10 years on the steel structure and 5–10 years on the fabric.
  • Permit support: we prepare the shade drawings and work with a licensed engineering office when your site needs a Balady permit.
  • After-care: annual maintenance plans, including re-tensioning and fabric replacement.

How the balanced T-shape works in your favour

  • A lighter column for the same reach: with equal arms on each side, the roof’s own weight largely cancels out at the top of the column. Wind becomes the main design case, which often allows a lighter column than a single cantilever with the same total reach.
  • The same clear height on both sides: tall vehicles can park on either side.
  • A narrow footprint: one column line fits down the middle of a narrow island or median, where two rows of posts would not.

What we tell you honestly: the arms are usually shorter and flatter than on our double cantilever, so a T is less suited to two full-depth rows of large vehicles. A flat roof also needs a planned fall for rain, which we design in from the start.

T-shape parking shades designed for your city

We fit T-frames to landscaped islands in office car parks, compound medians, school and hospital drop-off lanes, mosque parking and staff rows inside industrial plants. A T-frame can also shade the walkway between two rows, so your staff and visitors walk in shade too.

We adapt every detail to your climate. Along the Gulf coast in Dammam, Al Khobar and Jubail, high humidity corrodes steel, so we recommend hot-dip galvanising. In Riyadh and Al Kharj, summer heat and dust storms are the main challenge, and breathable HDPE keeps air moving under your roof. In Jeddah and Yanbu, sea air attacks fixings and welds, so our coatings get extra attention. In Taif and Abha, where rain is more common, we give the roof a clear fall so water never ponds in the middle.

06

How we deliver your T cantilever car shade

  1. Free survey: we measure the island width and length, check kerbs, irrigation, light poles and buried services, and note the vehicles that use each side.
  2. Design and quotation: our engineers set the arm length on each side, column spacing and roof fall, then size the column and footing for one-sided wind. You approve the layout drawing and written quotation.
  3. Fabrication: columns and T-heads are welded and coated in our Dammam workshop under our own quality control; your fabric is cut per module.
  4. Installation: our crews cast the footings along the island centre line, let them cure, erect and level the T-frames, then fit and tension the fabric.
  5. Handover: we walk the row with you and explain the warranty and care plan.

Fabric and colour that suit a near-level roof

T Cantilever Car Parking Shades · Umbrella Parking Shades

On T-frames in open car parks we usually recommend HDPE, the most economical fabric: it is light, breathable, blocks up to 95% of UV and lets light rain through, so a near-level roof does not pond. For drop-off lanes and walkways, PVC costs a little more but gives you full shade and rain cover, pitched to the edges so water runs off. PTFE is our premium option for architectural schemes. Choose from 12 colours; matching the colour across T, single and double rows makes a mixed car park look like one project.

08

Simple care for a long-lasting shade

  • Keep the island’s irrigation away from the column bases to protect the coating.
  • After a sandstorm, check the centre of the roof for sand that has settled on near-level fabric.
  • Check the tension once or twice a year; a loose flat panel flaps more than a pitched one.

Or let us handle it: our annual maintenance plans cover re-tensioning, cleaning and repairs.

What shapes the price of your T cantilever shade

We explain each line of your quotation

  • Arm length on each side: a longer reach means heavier T-heads and columns.
  • Number of modules: longer islands spread the mobilisation and engineering cost, so each bay costs you less.
  • Fabric: HDPE is the lowest-cost option, PVC costs more for full rain cover, and PTFE is priced as a premium membrane.
  • Steel finish: hot-dip galvanising costs more but protects you against coastal corrosion.
  • Island works: breaking kerbs or moving irrigation and light poles adds work.

FAQ

T Cantilever Car Parking Shades: frequently asked questions

We suggest a T when your parking strip is narrow, such as a landscaped island or median, or when you want the same height and reach on both sides. Our double cantilever has longer, usually angled arms and is better for two full rows of cars parked back to back.

It only needs to fit the column base and footing plus a safe margin from the kerb, and most landscaped islands are wide enough. For very narrow medians we can use a slimmer column or a footing that extends under the paving. We confirm this during the free survey.

Yes. The more unequal the arms, the more the frame behaves like a single cantilever, so the column and footing get heavier. If one side serves cars and the other a walkway, an unequal T is often the right answer, and we design it for you.

We give the fabric a fall to one or both outer edges so water runs off instead of pooling in the middle. HDPE lets light rain pass through. With PVC we make sure the edges drop onto paving or a drain, not onto your cars’ doors.

Often, yes. We place the columns away from the root zone and keep the fabric clear of the canopy. Trees that will grow into the roof should be trimmed or moved, or they will rub through the fabric over time. We mark every tree on your layout drawing.

Yes. We engineer every T-frame for SBC 301 wind loads on your site, with the design focused on wind blowing harder on one side. Keep the fabric tight, or let our maintenance plan do it, and the footings will do their job for years.
