Arch Design Car Parking Shades in Saudi Arabia

Our arch design car parking shades use curved steel arches to carry one continuous, barrel-shaped fabric roof along your whole row of parking bays. You get a long, clean, modern roofline that sheds rain and sand and keeps every car in shade. At Umbrella Parking Shades we roll the arches in our own Dammam workshop and our crews install them across the Kingdom for company car parks, hospitals, schools and covered walkways.

One smooth arch design roof over your whole row

Picture a long, shallow tunnel roof over your cars. We roll steel arches to a curve in our workshop, set them on columns at regular intervals and link them with purlins along the row. Then we stretch the fabric over the arches in long panels, so your roof reads as one smooth curve from end to end.

That is what makes it different from a pyramid shade, which is built as separate four-sided modules. If you prefer an individual curved dome over each bay, look at our pyramid arch design parking shades. To compare every structure side by side, see our types of car parking shades guide.

Arch layouts we can build for you

  • Two-sided arch: columns on both sides of the bays with the arch spanning between them, the most economical way to cover a wide span.
  • Arch with columns on one side: the curved roof is carried from a single column line, leaving one side open for car doors, like a curved cantilever car parking shade.
  • Back-to-back arch rows: two rows of bays under a pair of arches sharing a central column line, for large car parks.
  • Arched walkway: the same structure, narrower, linking your car park to the building entrance.

02

What you get with Umbrella Parking Shades

  • Free site visit: we measure your full row, record kerbs, lights and drainage, and advise on span, fabric and colour.
  • Drawing and quotation first: a layout drawing and a clear written quotation before you pay anything.
  • Arches that match perfectly: every arch is rolled in our Dammam workshop and checked against one template, so your roofline is smooth from end to end.
  • Our own installation crews: no subcontractors, from footings to the last fabric panel.
  • Warranty: 10 years on the steel structure and 5–10 years on the fabric.
  • Balady permit support: we prepare the shade drawings and work with a licensed engineering office to file the permit when your site needs one.
  • After-care: annual maintenance plans from SAR 500/year, including washing, re-tensioning and fabric replacement.

Why an arched roof works so well in Saudi weather

Arch Design Car Parking Shades · Umbrella Parking Shades
  • Rain and sand slide straight off. A curved roof has no flat spots, so rain runs to the edges and blown sand does not settle. That helps in Jazan and the Asir highlands, where heavy rain comes in short bursts, and in Riyadh and Qassim, where dust storms are frequent.
  • Long, unbroken cover. One continuous roof suits rows of 10, 20 or more cars, without the repeating peaks of a pyramid layout.
  • A strong, quiet shape. An arch carries load through its curve, and tensioned fabric over a curve stays taut and quiet in wind.
  • Gutters where you need them. Water collects along predictable edges, so gutters and downpipes can be added where run-off must be controlled.

What we tell you honestly: rolling arches adds workshop steps, and a continuous roof is harder to extend piece by piece than separate pyramid modules. On a very short run, a single pyramid or cantilever may cost you less, and we will price it for you.

Arched car park shades designed for your site

  • Industrial and utility sites in Jubail and Yanbu, with long staff car parks, where we use hot-dip galvanised steel against humid, salty air.
  • Hospitals and universities in Riyadh and Madinah, for long rows of staff parking and shaded paths to the entrance.
  • Corporate campuses in Dhahran and Al Khobar, where a clean roofline suits modern buildings.
  • Schools in Jeddah and Makkah, covering bus bays and parent drop-off lanes.

How we handle your project from survey to handover

  1. Free site survey. We measure the full length and width of the area, record kerbs, lighting poles and drainage, and confirm vehicle heights.
  2. Engineering and quotation. Our engineers choose the arch radius, span and spacing, select the steel sections, and design concrete footings and anchor bolts for SBC 301 wind loads at your site. You approve the layout drawing and written quotation before fabrication.
  3. Fabrication. In our Dammam workshop the arches are rolled to radius, checked against the template, welded and finished. Fabric panels are cut and joined to length.
  4. Installation. Our crews cast the footings and let them cure, set out the columns in a straight line, lift the arches, fix the purlins and tension the fabric panel by panel.
  5. Permit and handover. Where your site needs a Balady permit, we prepare the shade drawings with a licensed engineering office; at handover we explain the warranty and care.

Fabric and colour for a roof people notice

  • PVC (from approx. SAR 150/m²) turns the arch into a waterproof roof with full shade, the right choice where rain cover matters, such as walkways and drop-off zones. See our PVC car parking shades for details.
  • HDPE (from approx. SAR 100/m²) lets hot air escape through the fabric and blocks up to 95% of UV, keeping a long car park noticeably cooler in summer at the most economical price.
  • PTFE is our premium membrane for high-profile buildings, quoted per project.

A long arched roof is very visible, so colour matters. White and light grey make the structure look lighter and reflect heat; green or blue can tie the shade to your company branding; in dusty inland cities, mid-tones hide dirt between cleanings. You choose from 12 colours.

Easy care that keeps your arch looking new

Arch Design Car Parking Shades · Umbrella Parking Shades
  • Wash the fabric along its full length a few times a year; dust builds up where the curve flattens near the edges.
  • Check the joins between fabric panels and the edge tension after windy periods.
  • Clear gutters and downpipes before the rainy season, if fitted.
  • Inspect column bases and arch connections once a year, and repair any coating damage quickly near the coast.

Our annual maintenance plans (from SAR 500/year) cover all of this, so your team does not have to.

What shapes the price of your arch design car parking shades

Your written quotation shows each of these clearly

  • Span: a wider arch needs a heavier section and bigger footings.
  • Run length: longer rows lower your cost per bay, and large projects get volume pricing.
  • Column layout: a one-sided arch needs heavier columns and footings than a two-sided one.
  • Fabric: HDPE from approx. SAR 100/m², PVC from approx. SAR 150/m², PTFE quoted per project.
  • Steel finish: hot-dip galvanising costs more but is the right choice near the sea.
  • Extras: gutters, lighting provisions and site work such as cutting asphalt.

FAQ

Arch Design Car Parking Shades: frequently asked questions

Our arch shade is one continuous curved roof along a row of cars; a pyramid shade is a series of separate four-sided modules, each with its own peak. Arches give you a smooth, modern line and shed rain well; pyramids are easier to add one bay at a time. We can price both for your site.

There is no fixed limit. We build the roof from repeating arches, so it can run along your full car park row. Tell us the length and we will plan the layout for free.

With PVC or PTFE fabric, yes: the curve sends water to the edges quickly. HDPE is breathable, so some rain passes through. If rain cover matters, for example on a walkway or in Jazan, we recommend PVC and can discuss gutters.

If yes: Yes. We can carry the arch from one column line to keep one side open for car doors; the columns and footings are heavier, which we show you in the quotation.

Very little. The curved surface gives sand no flat place to settle, so most of it blows or washes off. A rinse after a big sandstorm, or a visit under our maintenance plan, keeps light colours clean.

For a row of 10–20 bays, plan on about 2–4 weeks, including roughly 7 days for the footings to cure. Longer runs are phased over about 4–8+ weeks, so part of your car park stays open while we work.
